Kleur 37 EBC.

The Loemelaer series, though still very young, does not seem to end: apart from a dry-hopped version of their tripel, they also have this "Belgian IPA" in their range. Thick and sticky, clearly hops-enhanced, cream white head over a hazy orange blonde beer. Aroma indeed shows citrussy, IPA-like, somewhat resinous hoppiness, mandarin, orange peel, honey, bread, young cheese, dried apricot. Fruity taste, peach, pineapple, caramelly and slightly nutty malts in the middle, bready touch, evolving into a medium long, drying, peppery and herbal hop bitter finish. Not bad - in fact, the best of the Loemelaers so far, at least to my opinion. But then, I’ve been a hophead for many years.

Sampled from bottle @ Tim needs to get rid of his ticks tasting. Clear yellow - orange - golden color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly hops, old hops, remembers me of the white "stuff" under the peel of an orange. It also has that kind of bitterness. Ok body and carbonation.

Thanks to tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim needs to get rid of his ticks” Tasting. Enjoyed together with tderoeck, Benzai & Alengrin. Tasted the entire current line-up of Loemelaer (9 beers currently) after each other. Clear golden (pale & clear like their other beers, at least this one is lightly orange & not as horribly pale as quite a few of the others), it just looks wrong, little white head. Nose is weird chemical, fizzy, faintly medicinal hops. Taste is honey sweetness, fizzy, grass, hay, medicinal hops. Very fizzy & body feels thin & extract-like. Its okay or manageable I suppose.

23/I/15 - 33cl bottle brought from the brewer @ "I need to get rid of my Belgian ticks" tasting - BB: X/2016 (2015-75)

Clear orange beer, irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity, peach, very fruity, bit sweet, sugary touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, hoppy, pretty fruity, bitter, some exotic fruits, some citrus. Aftertaste: bitter, resinous, hoppy, grassy, citrus, some grapefruit. Decent.
