Anvil ESB is our interpretation of a traditional British-style pub ale. Deep amber in color, a toasty character from British malts and a touch of kettle caramelization blend seamlessly with a mild English hop profile. Its delicate balance of flavors will keep you coming back pint after pint, making it a complex creation we’re proud to call our flagship beer.

Bottle, 22oz, at TFODRBSG 2012. It’s an almost clear one, dark amber in color and with a dense, small, light beige head. Some faint roasted notes on the nose, with caramel, bread and toffee, as well as a pleasant west coast hoppyness. Full-bodied, a bit heavy on carbonation and with a fine bitterness. A touch of something coffee-ish in the flavor, bread and caramel, along with a nice citrusy, piney hoppy bitterness lasting for some time. Certainly a pleasant bitter. 120818
