Genesis is our flagship blonde sour and one of our inaugural offerings from the Funkatorium. Fermented with over a pound per gallon of pineapple, guava, papaya, and mango the beer is then aged in wine barrels and blended to accentuate the wild and tropical nature of the yeast and fruit.

Bottle thanks to Brandon Cole. Pours a cloudy yellow with small frothy white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is funk, oak, citrus. Thin mouthfeel with strong funk, dry fruit, light sourness. Good.

375ml sampled at the DC Epic Sour Tasting 2014. Pours a clear yellow with zero head. Looks like chardonnay. Nose has a lot of hard cider, some sour notes, lemon rind, a little band aid, white grape, some straw, a little bleached barrel. Flavor has a ton of cider, apple skins, apple core, white grape, lots of tropical fruit, crazy juicy. Clean finish. You’d never believe this was a beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a great combination of tart lemons and earthy grain with a nice dry funk backing. Flavor has dry tart lemon up front with some earthy grains and fink in the finish.
