250ml bottle. Clear reddish brown colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lacing, off-white head. Dry, sourish and fruity aroma, notes of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant. Taste is dry, sourish, decent fruit notes, a touch of leather.

Eh. Not a lot going for it; semisweet, bready, with a slight bit of toffee and fruit, maybe the faintest glimmerings of sourness on the finish? Could be the La Folie I drank last week still lingering. Looks good, smells dull, and pretty much underwhelms all around. Good thing it was free.

Ett mörkt syrligt och lite sött veteöl med toner av jordgubb och jäst. Inte så illa som det låter.

Taster from bottle. Finally, my last of 39 ratings from the Glunz Beer Expo, April 2010! I’ve got the bottom of the bottle in my sampler, so it’s very hazy, maybe just from yeast at the bottom. Brownish, very thin ring of foam. Nice malty, and yes a buckwheat smell. Tastes like a brown ale. some sourness to it. Possibly some honey and Brett in the mix. Spicy. Pretty hearty. A lot of ale fruitiness but not estery.

Sampled at GCBF '10, pours cloudy reddish brown. Aroma of grains and caramel malts. Flavour is more dominated by the grains, with wheat and some dark malt. Better than the regular Sara.

Very thick-set, cream coloured head, irregular, over chestnut-cola coloured beer. Very outspoken coriander nose, soupy, sweet malt and colouring. Citrus, and lots of sugar, even melasses, but ending sweet. All the time "enriched" by the evil seeds, of course. Just ast the blonde, very fizzy, overcarbonized. Despite this, there’s an oily slickness, leaving a film on the tongue. Certainly not Silenrieux’ best try. One would believe Du Bocq.Earlier Rating: 3/9/2004 Total Score: 3Slight gushing to huge, beige head; foxy-amber beer, all clear. Adstringency in the nose; glue, solvent, plywood and straw. Maybe some dark candi sugar. Quite smoked taste at the onset, dark malts, and - I guess - buckwheat indeed. Unfortunately, the solvent aroma's are back retronasal, if less. Slight acidity and adstringency. Quite well bodied, nevertheless. The solvent is a brewing fault, IMO. Sad, because the beer behind it seems to deserve better.

Clear brown with a small white head. Aroma of caramel and molasses, with notes of plums. Dry and spicy flavour with a touch of caramel. The The biscuit and cereal-like buckwheat flavour is there.

End of the year rate-a-thon. 750mL cork and wire poured into a large Duvel tulip. Cork pops with authority and pours with a humongous khaki colored head. It fades slowly and leaves a heck of a sticky lacing on the glass. Never fully fades and stays a cm or 2 thick, completely covering the surface. The body is a brown color with reddish tints. Aroma is a very airy Belgian yeastiness. Behind that is a liquid black bread aroma, which is earthy and slightly sweet. A dark cereal grain aspect makes up the flavor. Flavor dissipates quickly yet the carbonation is not as strong as expected. Easy drinking with a cereal, lightly sweet aftertaste. A cool beer, I guess the buckwheat comes through through the cereal aspect.
