Ondineke is a classic tripel, brewed in the ancient way, again with exclusive natural ingredients: artesian water, malt (barley), hops, yeast and liquid candy sugar. As in the Saison no spices are added.

Brewed with a Styrian Golding variety called Aalster Groene Belle Monopole.

750ml bottle wrapped in paper from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Shared with Finn, Elisabeth, Jan Erik and Stefan. Pearl white head to a hazy golden body. Sweet citrus smell, hints of yeast. Honeyed fruity flavours added by yeasty esters and bread. Mid-sweet fruity finish with noticeable alcohol. Medium bodied. True to the style (big bottle session at Finns in Tromsø 16.12.2015).

Tripel from Aalst, the city of the late author Louis Paul Boon, one of the greatest authors in the Dutch language, creator of De Kapellekensbaan - the main character of which this tripel is named after. Yellowish white, thick, creamy, very stable head, warm golden blonde colour, clear but becoming cloudy as the 75 cl bottle is emptied in the glass. Pleasant fruity aroma of apple, mandarin, pineapple; malt sweetness, herbal hops, honey, caramel, white rhum, walnuts and some faint solvents, but nothing disturbing. Rounded, creamy palate, apple and orange fruitiness, mellow with honeyish background, finish soft spicy with mild Hallertau hoppiness. Decent, solid, well-balanced tripel, from this brewery founded by a well-known beer author in Belgium.
