Draught. Almost clear deep copper liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of raw sugar, toffee, raisins, bread and biscuit. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar and biscuit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Meh.

Ambar castaña. Clara. Un par de dedos de espuma, y pronto película. Aroma malteado y a fruto seco. En boca excesivamente gaseosa, pero con un rico sabor muy acaramelado y a miel. Cuerpo medio, bebible. Cierto tono licórico suave. Pero todo envuelto en demasiado gas. Aún así, rica.

On tap at the brewery. Clear caramel coloured with an off-white head. Aroma dominated by caramel, with notes of malt and hints of herbs. Sweet and caramelly with a certain bitterness. Fairly tasty and quite okay.

330ml bottle [vriendelijke groet voor de Gruut aan bartlebier, dank je wel!]. Clear, deep, amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Dusty, yeasty aroma, caramel malty basis, a touch of red berries and their parings. Taste is minimally fruity with hints of red berries, minimally toasty caramel malty basis, a minimally soapy touch; super soft palate. Rather sweet, not much yeast action.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours clear lightish copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of fruit and touches of hops and dust. Sweetish flavour of malt, caramel and fruit, with estery and dusty notes. Bitter touches of hops prevalent in the background. Lively carbonation. Bitter and estery flavour with some sweetish hints. Not bad.

Tasted from tap and from bottle. Pure and clear amber coloured beer with thin but sticky, off-white head. Lots of iron in the nose, along with caramel, walnut, redcurrant, tea leaves, apple peel; soft taste of dried fruits and red berries, nutty and caramelly malts, smooth and sweetish, gentle spicy accents, metallic feel, lightly bitterish finish. A decent and quenching session beer.
