Bottle sample at a Baltika tasting. Thanks (or no thanks?) Keren. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is a big sugary with a bit of corn. Sweetish flavor with some sugary cereals, chemicals and a slightly drier finish. Light-bodied.

Apart from the water tastes Baltika Classic is not necessarily bad, but everything else as well. If we add the water, can of course be penalized. I did not have to choke or the like, but to call the beer-pleasing would be presumptuous. Not my case!

50cl can. Poured pale golden with a thin white head, that quickly disappeared. Aroma is malt and cereals. Sweet flavor, grainy malt and hint of hops. Watery. Very easy to drink, but very tasteless.

Bottle: Pale golden, stable white foamy layer; strawy to pale-malty nose with a tinge of vanilla and some mild grassy hops in the background; fresh mild sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; citrussy hops in the light pale-malty and bitter finish. Pleasant brew, they must have improved the quality recently.....

0.5 liter bottle in St. Petersburg, Russia. Very malty and yeasty. Tastes like dough and flour. The palate is thick and slightly fizzy and feels rough with suspended particles. Overall, a simple beer, and very good for the price.

From tap. 15.Jun.2010, with dinner at Pecheskago restaurant, Odessa. Thanks to Stefan for sharing! This is actually one of the most popular beers in Russia. It pours a light golden colour, with a frothy head. Hoppy aroma and a quite decent flavour, as it is not as sweet as other Russian lagers. I still prefer Baltika 7, though.
