Dry-hopped Lager

This Spring, Pacific Wild and Sunshine Coast craft brewer, Persephone Brewing have teamed up to bring you a special beer that celebrates Pacific herring (ak.a. #BIGLittleFish), the foundation of the Pacific coast ecosystem.

This beer is perfect for drinking at the water’s edge; a clean, light-bodied refreshing lager, dry hopped with Amarillo and Citra hops for subtle notes of tropical citrus.

Our collaboration is all about using business as a force for good to spread an intense love for the marine environment with British Columbians.

Can, Firefly. Pale with a slight haze. Fairly thick head. The aroma is sort of an apple juice accent that seems a bit weird to me. It's got a moderate bitterness, and it's got a bright juicy hop character. Malts aren't bad - just sort of unobtrusive, but not really good enough to carry the beer, as was the case when Keller Pils and Gibsons B were at their prime. Still, it's got a pretty nice bitterness and drinks well.

12oz (thx, Alex!) @ Golden Ears shared with Andrey. Appearance: a bit hazy straw with a white head. Aroma: very nice tropical fruits, citruses, crispy. Taste: a bit grassy with classic lager notes, crispy and crackery. Overall: good one.

355mL can, courtesy fo fiulijn (thanks man), pours a hazy dull blonde with a medium white head. Nose reveals a nice earthy, grassy dry hopping upfront, with biscuity malt, and some toasted bread. Flavour is crisp, with a great grassy hop bite, crisp crackery malt, and a bit of earthiness. Sharp and biting, with a forceful hoppy bitterness, just how I like my pilsners. Not quite as good as Amarillo Pilsner, but this is certainly well-done.

Can from High Point, Vancouver
Blond colour, pale, chill haze, dullish. Strong aroma, a bit grassy, but then mostly it's about resinous New World hops. Dry mouthfeel, it's very crisp, the malt has some crackery quality, the hop provides grassy and piney resins; if anything, it ends with some chicory bitterness.
Solid Lager/Pilsner. Highly expressive.

Clear pale gold with a light head. Dank and citrus. Weedy and dank with some crackery dry notes and light bitterness. Quite good.
