Following the substantial demand for “wittekes” or white beer in the mid-Eighties, we decided to develop our own version of this beer style. We use regional hops from Poperinge, as well as ungerminated wheat and several herbs for the specific identity of this cloudy beer.

Creamy head. Grape sugar aroma. Chalk. Sweetish, herbal flavor with curacao and grape sugar. Rather thin. Vinous for a witbier. Fairly well made with loads of flavor.

Tight white head stayed a hazy dark lemon coloured still body. Citrus & yeast aroma. Medium bodied, well carbonated with clean finish. Floral tastes with citrus, yeast & bubble gum.

bottiglia 25 cl, schiuma bianca fine media persistenza, colore arancio chiaro torbido, al naso lievito cereali agrumi limone chiodi di garofano e leggero banana, in bocca scorza di limone chiodi di garofano, carbonatazione decisa, corpo leggero, watery, acidula, amaro leggero. Nel finale rimane i chiodi di garofano. Manca un po' di personalità ma si beve bene. 03.08.18

Hazy pale golden colour, good frothy white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma wheat, lemon, coriander, hint barnyard. Taste light sweet and sourish, wheat, lemon, coriander, yeast notes. Light sweet acidic aftertaste, light lemon pith, light spicy notes, some starch. Light body, watery texture, average carbonation, mediocre witbier, only for hot days.

bottled as Watou Witbier at 4.8% ABV. cloudy golden liquid. moderate white head. aroma: you usual citrus fruit and coriander, just some off-notes from fermentation. the taste is pretty the same. medium dry. low bitterness. mediocre one.

Botella 20 cl en el Kraken 29..12..2017. Color amarillento pajizo velado con espuma blanca persistente. Sabores suaves frescos cereales y maltas con suaves tonos cítricos y algo herbaceo. Cuerpo ligero fácil de beber. Normal.

Bottle from Belgibeer. Lemon gold with a thin head. Aroma of corriander and citrus. Flavour is a little wheat, citrus grain, corriander on a light dry grain finish.
