Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is caramel, cocoa, dark malt, lactose, fudge, milk chocolate, some fruits, subtle notes of smoke and whisky. Flavour is medium sweet with a mild roasty bitterness. Body is above medium with some nice creaminess. I would have liked for the smoke and whisky to be a bit more present. Good overall.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours darkest brown to black with bubbly beige head. The aroma is toasty, roasted malt, smooth smoke, umami, liquorice, light bonfire, ash, dried fruits, eccles cake, glacΓ© cherry and chocolate brownie. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, umami, liquorice, dull smoke, bonfire, dark chocolate, touch of apricot jam, sacher torte, chocolate brownie, earthy, dried fruits, chewy, toothy and a lick of warming whisky with a slick, oily mouth - feel. Medium to full body and average carbonation. Fun, but a bit chewy I suppose. Nice anyhow.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is meaty, roasted, toffee, vanilla, taste is similar, a little minty, interesting.

Keg @ Brewdog Lothian Road, Edinburgh. Black with an off-white head. Aroma is dry, roasted malt, coffee, light wood and light bourbon. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Oily. 170419

On keg at Brewdog Lothian Rd, Edinburgh. Appearance - opaque black, tar like. Thin crema head. Nose - dried fruit and tar. Light smoke. Taste - raisins and prunes. Tar again. Palate - rich and sweet. Long taper. Overall - luscious. A dessert beer.
