375 ml bottle @ Patricks. Dark amber, almost black body with a moderate sized brown head. Aroma is roasted/burnt malt, dark chocolate, coffee and spices, some Brett. Flavor is sweet malty, roast, chocolate, dry fruit, pleasant bitterness and some dry/sour Brett. Nice body and a good aftertaste. Unusually, interesting and nice.

Bottle in Rome. Opaque black beer, good sized creamy looking tan head. Palate is suprisingly light and a little dry. Sharp minerals. Burned coffee with dry cinnamon. Dry finish. Frankly this is a mess and a complete miss by this otherwise very good brewer.

375 ml dark green bottle, vintage 2009, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 8.5%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate brown head. Nice aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, farmhouse, red wine vinegar and various spices. The flavour has notes of red wine vinegar, dark fruits, coffee and loads of spices, some woody notes too. A complex, interesting and unusual beer!

Bottle 375ml.Clear dark black brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, burnt roasted, dusty. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, sweet tart peat - sod, dark dark roasted, burnt, wood, tart. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111105]

Bottle. Pours black, with a dark, airy foam. Aroma is herby and medicine-ish, with notes of coffee. Flavour is of cold, sour coffee, with a touch of dark fruits, and a sweetness of canned plums and cherries and a sherry oakiness.

Bottle, 375ml. It pours a dark, dark brown body, mostly clear, and topped by a dense, small, dark beige head. The aroma has a spiced touch, almost cedar like, with coffee and some lemon peel hints. Quite complex. The flavor is rather sourish, with coffee, roasted malts, some dried fruits and a touch of soy sauce. Full-bodied and quite dry, with lots of coffee in the end. Unusual, in a very nice way. Would very much like to repeat this one. 111105

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel and hops. Odd sourness.

Bottled @ cgarvieuk’s Need some Cupboard Space tasting. Black colour, tan head. Nose is roasty, sour, cooked beans. Flavour is some roastiness, sour, coffee, cigarette smoke. Quite odd.
