Fade to Black is our sweet cherry mead with a twist. It matured for a while over broken black pepper corns. The taste evolves from an explosion of dark ,sweet cherries to a subtle bite from the black pepper. Fade to Black never gets spicy, but the aroma and the tingling associated with black pepper are unmistakingly there.

Fade to Black’s velvetlike texture makes for a perfect aperitif. The more adventurous among us may want to try Fade to Black with a steak with pepper sauce or -for our vegetarian friends- a chees platter with a bold Livarot, Herve of Vièrge Folle.

Meadvent Calendar 8. Very dark purple, looks thick. Smells strong, lots of black cherry, little bit of sharpness. Fairly light body, but sticky and lingering enough. Taste is odd. Sweet cherry and plenty of black pepper. Not sure it works, but it is fun!

Pours very dark red, nearly black. Smell is very rich, strong, bit herbal by the pepper. Honey is mild, and so are the cherry's. Taste is full, bit sweet, rather fruity, but cherry's don't pop out as much as you'd expect. Also the pepper is in far better balance than i would have expected. Ends with a strong honey flavor, and maintains it's syrupy character. Very smooth mead, I must say the noses made me expect far less balance than it actually has.
