Voici une blonde dorée développant une belle mousse compacte et tenace. Son dégagement gazeux est important. Au nez, on ressent l’orge et la levure ainsi qu’une touche agréable de malt. Elle est un peu piquante en bouche, offre un léger goût de torréfaction et révèle la présence de houblon. Elle est caractérisée par une amertume équilibrée et prolongée en fin de bouche ainsi que par des notes fruitées complexes. Rendant hommage à sa manière à l’enfant du pays, le Dinantais Adolphe Sax, elle se distingue aussi par le design de l’étiquette, représentant un escargot.

Lots of perfume in this aroma. Smells like an airport duty free shop. Pours golden blond with fizzy head and minimal lacing. Finishes perfume sweet with touch of bitterness. Booze well hidden. A well-balanced beer that tastes remarkably light considering. Bottle from Spinnakers.

Hazy orange, amber hue, instantly gone big creamy white head, too bad. Very sweet yeast nose, light apple pie, touch honey, esters, sweet spices and malts. Sweet apple, yeast, esters, light floral, touch apples, honey, white bread, very light alcohol, sweet flowers, very light floral hops, bitter esters. Creamy yeast, lightly fizzy. Pretty standard sweeter Belgian Strong Ale but clearly above average. Very enjoyable & easy to drink. (33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 2014 (month specified is “L” but no idea what that means.)

Bouteille 330ml. De couleur jaune-dorée et voilée. Nez de levures fruitées (agrumes, léger d’abricots, notes de pêches et de bananes) et légèrement épicées (poivre, traces de coriandre), moyen de pain avec des notes d’alcool doux, de miel et de houblon floral et herbeux. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-élevé et une texture aux notes champenoises. Goût de levures fruitées (agrumes, léger de pommes, notes de pêches, traces de bananes) avec un léger goût épicé (poivre) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un léger goût de pain et de miel puis progressivement se rajoute et ce, jusqu’en finale un goût légèrement amer de houblon floral et herbeux, avec des notes d’alcool doux réchauffant. Post-goût moyen-long et sec, léger-moyen amer de levures fruitées (zeste d’agrumes, notes de pelures de pommes), de houblon floral et d’alcool doux des traces d’épices (poivre doux). (2006)

getrunken 2012 Das Saxo erfreut erstmal durch ein nettes Design des Etikettes, das fast schon ein Kunstwerk ist. Das Bier selbst ich ebenso als Kunstwerk zu betrachten: so spielen fruchtige Aromen ebenso wie Gewürznoten eine Rolle und ergeben ein tolles Gesamtbild. So kommen fein mit Koriander und Zimt gewürzte Äpfel und Kirschen und auch brotige Zwetschken und vanillige Rosinen zum Vorschein. Alles da und alles harmoniert. So soll es ein - ein wirklich schön komponiertes Bier, das aber dennoch nicht überfordert.

Hazy golden colour colour with a frothy white head. Friuty and yeasty aroma. Medium body. Balanced sweetness and light bitter. Mild balanced sweet flavour with some spices and light fruity.

On tap at Belgian Beer Weekend, Brussels. The colour is clear golden straw-yellow with a medium frothy white head. A distinct touch of citrus in the aroma along with herbs, coriander, pale malt, fruits and belgian yeast. More hay in the flavour but also pale malt, sweet corn, grass and citrus. Has a slick and nice mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. A fresh and good belgian ale with a wonderful touch of spices.

Bottle from Yamaichi. Nice nose, lemon, honey, bread, light spice. Clean and crisp. Clear golden with a tall, fine head. Spicy, lempn and orange, sweet, tangy, bready falvor. Quite nice really, Without quite attaining greatness. Full, rich body. Good stuff.
