Tap at brewpub poured into a tal mug. Color is light brown with a small head, medium translucence but low clarity. Aroma is best described as the chalk board behind the bar say "spicy & fruity." Sweet granny smith apples, LOTS of CLOVE and sweet wheat (almost rye like). Taste is malty cereal sweet with and a slight sour sweetness (from the wheat). LIght-medium body with very little bitterness. Actually, in general it seems this is a blend of the recent Rye Doppelbock and the Scotch Ale.

Cask at Long Island Real Ale Festival - my first reaction was "yup, that’s a weizenbock," and my overall opinion didn’t really change after repeat sips - slight sourness, tempered by caramel malt and a bit of chocolate sweetness - nothing really stand out - I can think of half a dozen weizenbocks that taste exactly the same, and I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or an insult to the beer.
