Cask at the Blue Point cask fest - a german-style brew on cask? sure, why not? - dark, hazy brown with zero head on it - quite a slick mouthfeel - fairly creamy - lots of toffee and caramel sweetness - the sweetness is actually a little too much for me - the rye is quite apparent, and almost keeps the sweetness at bay - the rye combines with the malts to create an almost nutty character, which is interesting, but not enough to keep me from focusing on how overly-sweet the beer is.

Tap at the Brew Haus, poured into tall mug. Color is dark brown, can’t see through it but a good amount of light passes through. Small head. Smells very fruity and sweet. Don’t know whats up with these fruity lagers, too much fruit for this beer. Taste is nice enough, a sweet wheat (which JoeMcphee tells me is the rye). Low bitterness, mildly carbonated, leaves a slightly sweet aftertaste.
