Growler provided by beastiefan2k for the 10/18 tasting. Pour is mostly clear golden with a white head. Aroma of smoke, barbecue, smoked ham. Really not much else, though, smoke is in no way overpowering. Taste is maltiness, with a nice gentle smokiness surrounding and enveloping the taste. Really nice melding of the smoke. Palate is medium thin, coats nicely, though still very drinkable. This was a really nice beer, thanks for hauling it back for the crew Eugene. Beer of the night for the tasting.

Pint @ brewpub. Color is completely clear straw color with almost no remnants of a head. Not enticing visually at all. Aroma is very clean, lightly doughy, lightly herbal, malts. There is a subtle touch of sweet smoke. Taste is a bit more crisp with some light herbal hops coming through. Finishes with a beautiful light smoke that sits on the back of the throat for a while. And I get something like just a touch of jalapeño. May just be a cool way that the hops are presenting themselves. Has a nicely easy drinking, light mouthfeel as well. I really like this light smoked, a bit more than the Schlenkerla.
