Draft @ Thirsty Moose. Served in a standard pint glass. Darker brown color, decent white head. Nose is mostly sweet, bread malt. Light citrus hops. Flavor is fruity hops, followed by grassy hop note ending in spicy rye bitterness. Yeast is present throughout the brew. The body is a bit watery. Decent good drinker but… a bit forgettable.

I guess I will stick with the mode rating (completely coincidental). The beer is a dark amber color with a small sticky head. Aroma actually has something new for a Sixpoint beer, not a completely hoppy beer. There is a sweet spiciness that I attribute to the rye, like a lightly phenolic-y wheat. This is actually as strong if not stronger than the usual hop aromas of citrus and thick sweet floral tea. Taste combines the two aspects, with a reduction in the rye presence. The beer is sort of a light assault on the senses with the strong rye and strong hops. This was probably the best Sixpoint experience I had in a while.
Tap at Blind Tiger, served in tulip glass.

@ Brazen Head on cask-pours a ? head and hazy copper color. Aroma is yeasty, sweet medium malt, fruity. Taste is yeasty, clove, sweet medium malt-caramel, fruity, some rock candy, rye, peat. Lots going on. Minimum carbonation. Dry, mellow.

Cask at Brazen Head - after having the Granpa’s Nerve Tonic the night before, I can honestly say that this looked and tasted very much like it - of course, this isn’t exactly bad - cloudy brown beer - fresh, hoppy, "yup, that’s sixpoint" aroma - rye is apparent but not powerful - tastes hoppy and lightly fruity - some rye in the mix - nothing particularly belgian about it...at all - a bit of dark fruit (fig?) and spice - another tasty, albeit homogeneous sixpoint offering.
