Our lambic beers are fermented by exposure to the untamed yeasts and bacteria that are native to our Brewery. We affectionately call this unrestrained, wild amalgamation our House Funk and Ville De Rivere Geuze is the outcome of a thoughtful, hands on blending of our young, one year old and mature, three year old sour lambic beers. Following the blending process, the beer is then allowed to mature in the bottle for up to six months and the result is a beautifully, balanced dry, musty, cider, vinous, sour ale that will continue to develop in the bottle for years to come.

Big thanks to Sledutah, Craig! It pours clear pale gold with a thin white head of foam. The aroma is Oude Gueuze Tilquin à l’Ancienne like with acidic citrus coming from a semi rich depth of lime and tangerine as well as a touch of hay and some sweetness. The taste is similar with soft acidic citrus notes like lime and lemon to go along with a tiny amount of residual sweetness. Along with those notes some hay and tartness and soft light vinegar comes to the surface to create additional depth. This is solid and refreshing and has a somewhat thin body making it even more sessionable. How has this come from Ohio?

750 thanks to Craig. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head. A big nose of lemon and sawdust. The flavor is interesting: light hay, fruit, lemons especially, some lactic sourness. Interesting. Light oak. Good.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house courtesy of Veldrid. Thanks! Hazy, a bit cloudy golden with a small bubbly white head. Prickly carbonated, light banana, spicy, mild lemon, lightly funky aroma. Green apple, cidery, mildly tart lactic, somewhat herbal, fairly refreshing flavor. Not nearly as complex as the last Rivertown Lambic I had.

Aroma is fairly well balanced with acetic acid and lactic acid. There is a background oak character as well as some tropical and cherry fruit. It's not as acidic as I would like and is missing a lot of that classic barnyard funk though there is some present. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow gold with a very slight, thin white head that quickly disappears. No legs or lacing. Flavor is similar to the aroma. A bit too sweet and fruity - I pick up a bit of cider. The oak character in the flavor is well integrated but the acidity and funk are too slight. It could really use more funkiness and could be abut drier. It is also missing a bit of the phenolic character. Has some nice citrus notes in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with low carbonation. Astringency is difficult to judge separate from the acidity but the beer is clean. Medium low alcohol heat. Overall, a good unobjectionable sour beer but it misses when measured up against more traditional geuzes. I like the beer, it's like a less acidic Mother Funker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy yellow color, with a wispy white head. Aroma had some touch of sour notes, sweet fruit notes. Flavor was a touch tart, with some sour notes. Not bad, pretty enjoyable.

Bottle. Sour apple and vinegar aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with no head. Tart apple, vinegar, and malt flavor. Nice body. Tasty. May not be from the Senne Valley, but the Ohio Valley did a pretty nice job on this one.

Bottle.Tart lemon and lactic, funky musty barnyard brett aroma. Hazy gold with no head. Tart lemony lactic, light wood, and musty barnyard flavor with a moderately dry tannic finish. Moderately acidic, but not mouth puckering. Medium body, very soft carbonation, dry finish. Very enjoyable.
