Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a light golden copper color with a cap of a little white head. Sliding lace.
The aroma had some sweet grainy to doughy/breadiness with a light crisp clean grassy hops underneath.
The flavor sticks to the sweet portion of the doughy/bready malts and then wraps itself around some light hops to meld into the aftertaste and finish.
The feel was light bodied, extremely sessionable, with a crushability able to take down probably four growlers in a session and not feel a thing.
Overall, think I liked this one and goes great with brats being shoved down my throat. Make sure that extra spicy mustard is on the brats, because that and this is great going down, but just don’t think about the next day (call your local sewer plant before you go to the toilet, just saying).

(10/25/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Southampton. Clear golden color. Buttery aroma with some malt. Sweetish flavor with quite a bit of diacetyl, some malt and a rather dry finish. Quite light in body. Not very good.

Pours a completely clear yellow, very macro looking with a small head. Aroma is surprisingly strong with a grassy sweetness weird. Taste is a mix of weird apple sweetness and a very bad herbalness. Not well liked, with a very light yet slightly oily mouthfeel. Well I put off trying this for a very long time, maybe I should have waited longer.
Live rating at the Publick house, pint pour.

3 or 4 draught pint on 4/28/06 at SHPH
White head tops off this deeply golden-honey colored beer, with light-amber tinges to it and a very high clarity. Head is poorly to moderately retained, leaving little to no lacing as it recedes.
Strong munich-like maltiness shows sour grains in the nose, that quickly envelope the senses, while bushy, lightly tangy and dry-grassy hops flit about. Similar to the may bock, but without any of the breadiness, and a more restrained sourness (in flavor). Dry yellow fruits emerge upon warming, a mix of yeast and hops? It’s actually got a fair pungency to it, especially after warming (which is key at the brewpub). Juicy yellow fruits and leafy hops wrapped in honey. Medium strength, no alcohol.
Dry, pale grains initially add some grit and begin to dry out the palate but are quickly subsumed by a mix of water and honey that lightens things considerably, providing more drinkability. Lightly crisp yeast plays about on the palate, carried on by a fairly vigorous (but not overwhelming) carbonation as tangy noble hops close the finish (in concert with a very crisp yeast). Gentle, lightly watery texture (to style) and a wonderful balance between yeast, hops and malt. Sure there is some wateriness, but nothing out-of style. Some light apple bi-product from the yeast is the extent of the "flaws", though I don’t think I’ve ever had a helles where I couldnt taste some light apple notes. No alcohol apparency in flavor, medium to medium-light bodied.

This is a pretty decent lager. Probably one of the better lagers I've had. However, since I tried so many of their beers in one shot, this paled in comparison to most, if not all of them. Very wheaty - bread-like. If you like lagers, you'll love it, but I had to move on to bigger and better things. Good thing you can get beers in 4 ounce sample glasses, because this was def. a beer I wouldn't want to waste the money on a full pint of.
