Nitro pour at the Handlebar. Dark brown, clear enough to see through, one finger dense creamy beige head. Roasty aroma, chocolate, sweetness. Taste brings a mild roasty bite, sweet, notes of chocolate. Creamy smooth.

Medium brown, medium head, toasty nose. Has a decent malt character with a slight roast. Not bad.

Draft pour pint at Bobβs, Wenatchee. A near black pour, cola like, with an active fizz head. Big roasted malt aroma. Flavor is just barely sweet, caramel, bready, roasted malt linger. Chocolate reminder as well. Creamy. Pretty good overall.

Sampler at brewpub (plus, I was able to convince them to sell me an 8oz growler of it, howwww cute). My fav of the bunch, an actual shwarz. Low hop as needed, lagered roast, no acidity, lagered, clean light fume and earth. Much more impressed by the German style stuff at this place.

Growler, thanks to Eugene, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, bready malt, and some burnt notes. Flavour is robust, with roasted malt, crusty rye bread, and light burnt notes. Lots of depth to this - the crusty bread are front and centre. Great stuff.
