Schooner at the brewpub. Dark copper color, too thick to see through. Strong head that leaves a ridiculous all encompassing lacing on the sides of the glass. The beer is surprisingly malty, which seems to hide the hops. Fortunately, its not caramel and the hops are low on bitterness. Unfortunately, as with the recent batch of the DIPA, there is a touch of diacetyl. Its hidden well enough when the beer is cold.

Tap at Pike Brewing, Seattle. Slightly cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, sweetness, hops and malts. Quite mess but drinkable.

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out strong resinous and piney hops, some herbal notes and a nice malt backbone. Flavour brings out loads of resinous hops, balanced beautifully by a solid malt backbone. Super full-bodied, very hoppy, but without any real astringency. Wonderful stuff - very refined and elegant for a triple IPA.
