Draft: Overripe orange, DMS. Cloudy ochre, all head. Overripe orange, boiled cabbage. Grass and pencil shaving finish. Cloying. Medium body, soft carbonation. This is all kinds of off.

Shared 25.3 oz. bottle. Hazy dark copper with lots of sediment. Long-lasting off-white head with soapy lacing. Aroma of caramel, spice, malt, and citrus with floral elements. Taste is heavy on the malt, with a touch of citrus and pine. Seemed stale. Not the biggest Imperial IPA fan, but I suspect the bottle age likely affected this rating.

Draft at Beer Run, 7/10/14. Pours a clear golden color with a thin creamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of tropical hops, lemongrass, lime zest, caramel malt. The taste is candied citrus, tropical fruit, lime zest, caramel. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering bitterness.

Draft @ World of Beer Dadeland. Pours clear amber color with off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine and caramel. Overly sweet caramel malt flavor with bitter grapefruit and some pine. Medium body with average carbonation and syrupy mouthfeel.

Draft at Binny’s South Loop. Golden amber color. Slightly sticky head. I’m unable to drink such a sweet, caramelized sugars, and abrasive hop bitterness. Messy fruit syrupiness. Don’t enjoy the hops with the mess of sweetness and strong alcohol.

Amber wth a slight haze. No head to speak of. Rich chewy crystal malts on the nose. Slight melon/citrus, but chewy. Kiwi hops are not good for this type of beer.

Coopers, NYC tap: Pours slightly hazed orange with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, floral bouquet, tree, earthy dirt, and sweet malts. Taste is rather bitter with a veritable hop sting. Very fresh tasting. Certainly qualifies as a sipper in the world of DIPAs. Slightly sweet.

On tap at Apex. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A light tropical fruit nose. A smooth floral flavor, easy drinking, some tea, crispness, low bitterness, some resin and fruit. Mellow. Good beer overall.

On tap at Apex, pours an opaque orange with a small white head. Aroma of doughy notes, some slightly orange-like fruity notes, and moderate floral hops. Flavour brings out loads of oranges, doughy malts and floral hops. Not very hoppy, but very fruity and light on the palate. Highly drinkable, and not suggestive of a higher alcohol beer. Great stuff.
