Draft at the source. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of fruit, Belgian yeast, cucumber, spices. Taste follows nose with a good amount of cucumber and hints of cooked vegetable. Refreshing.

I had a couple of ~2 oz samples at the Boulevardia Taps & Tastes in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is slight haze golden with not much white head. The aroma is faint, there is straw and hay, and a hint of the cucumber. The taste was much bigger on cucumber, which was a bit of a surprise from the subdued nose. The cucumber is fresh, and very much the dominant flavor. Below the cuke is some yeast straw and hay notes. The palate is light to medium bodied with a crisp cucumber finish. A bit one note, though I am sure that was the intent.

Parkville Fest 2013. Made my way to Mother’s soon after the Blvd tent. Something about cucumbers and beer that really interests me. My only prior comparison is the Cigar City cucumber Saison. This golden colored beer did not have a cucumber nose. Just a light Belgian aspect, no strong esters, not sweet, pretty clean for a Belgian. Just airy Belgian character. Same in the flavor but a small but strong cucumber flavor rounds it off. Not a cucumber bomb and very well done, imo. Would love to buy this in a 4 pack.
