On tap at Free State, pours a clear copper with a small beige head. Aroma reveals lots of caramel malt, resinous hops, and light pine. Flavour is on the malty side, with bready malt, toasted caramel, and some resinous hops. Balance is good despite being driven mostly by the malts. Good.

12 oz draft at Waldo Pizza in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a clear copper orange with a frothy one inch white head. The aroma is tropical citrus, grapefruit, lightly resin, some floral and a bit of pine. The taste is the bright fresh tropical fruit hop, nice soft resin, pine all balanced with a nice cracker malt backbone. The palate is medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and a mineral resin finish. Nice.

Bottle received in trade from RobertDale, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a cleat dark golden color with a smallish frothy white head that quickly settles to a cap on top. Citrus, earthy and spicy hops dominate the aroma. Bready with light caramel malts provide a hint of balance to an otherwise hoppy nose. The flavor is a bit sweeter than the aroma let on. Rich bready sugary honey maltiness provides a nice base for nice hit of spicy citrus hop flavor and a moderate amount of bitterness that lingers long into every sip. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. Nice IPA

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with a gold hue and a gray head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of citrus with a hint of resin and a light sweet grain backbone. Flavor begins with citrus that is joined by a hint of grapefruit and grass with a light grain backbone.

Pour is a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is a nice pine hop with some sweet malt. Flavor is more sweet malt with a nice hoppy backbone. Pretty straight forward IPA. Decent stuff.

12oz bottle poured into a Free State willibecker glass. I have had this a few times over the past year, both bottle and tap at the brewpub. This particular rating is for a bottle I just picked up. While it was fridged this problem was bottle 2-3 months ago, not terrible old. Its a clear amber beer, pours filter clear. Medium thick head that sticks around. Free State does a good job of clearing the malt and letting the hops shine. In this beer the bitterness is prominent in the aroma and the flavor. Its all hops, well done, nice beer but a bit industrial. I would like more character to the beer. But if you want hop juice its a good option.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks Jetson! Pours a clear, rust orange appearance with a light brown head. Super spicy, piney hoppy, fairly resiny, caramel malty, sticky aroma. Sticky resiny hoppy, big piney/grapefruity hoppy flavor with just a mild bitterness and light sweetness. Tasty brew!
