Snifter pour @ the brewpub. Good head retention on a dark brown body that cannot be seen through. A better version of the regular Quad meaning aroma is much less estery. Its surrounded by lightly woody alcohol but I would not guess any particular sort. Flavor is sweet and strong on sweet Belgian malts. Its low on hops ad finishes lighter than expected. Definitely in the style, nothing exceptional but the extra conditioning the barrel allowed for did wonders for the beer with no downside with the barrel aging. One of the few times barreling makes a beer better. 7/4/7/4/15

A new batch I think: snifter, black with a good head. Aroma is whiskey all the way, i swear a little diacetyl or something caramel. Mouthfeel is light, alcohol evaporating off the tongue. More alcohol than beer. Flavor: once you get past the alcohol more caramel. This batch is off, will keep the original rating.
