Bottle side by side with the 7000. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Aroma was so sweet a little over the top. Tons of milk chocolate, molasses, and any other sweet smelling mess. Taste was just as sweet it was so rich and soy like it was unbelievable. So needless to say the 7000 won the head to head challenge.

12oz bottle from wavers1
Appearance: Almost opaque pour with a medium tan head that dissipates quickly leaving very little lacing in the glass
Aroma: Dark chocolate, licorice and burnt sugar
Taste: Dark malts, molasses, hot alcohols, woody with a bitter/sour finish
Not bad, but needs some cellaring time.

Bottled@PBF2010. Amber colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is mild oxidation, some caramel, mild sweet wood as well as some mild raisins. Flavour is quite much the same. A quite sweet beer. More a barley wine than imperial stout by taste...

Bottle. Pours a dark, ruby brown with a dense, beige head. Aroma holds roasted malts, dark fruits, light chocolate. Flavor is sweet, with deep, ripe fruits, alcohol, light wood and tobacco. Faint notes of caramel and toffee. Medium to full in body with soft carbonation and an oily texture. Finishes sweet with mild roasted malts and understated bitterness. Very good beer.

Bottle thanks to Overml01. Pours jet black with a quickly dissipating very thin tan head. Nose is heavy licorice, molasses, brown sugars and chocolate. Taste is the same with a light bourbon finish. Very nice stout.

Right now, this beer is kind of a sweet mess. It comes off as another kitchen sink strong ale/stout. Thereβs more molasses than roast and everything is dipped in syrup. Some licorice, tons of caramel, light chocolate, lots of brown sugar. Enjoyable but hot and sweet with clashing flavors. All that said, this beer probably just needs some time in the cellar. I bet it will be rather excellent given enough time.

I canβt believe Bells makes this beer - pours like cola - the aroma is the most promising part - smells like licorice, syrup, maple sap, dates, figs - the flavor is sickeningly sweet treacle and boozy alcohol - rum, raisin, date - odd bitterness and harsh black malts - burnt sugars, charred malts - tastes like a syrup mixture mixed with rum - a huge, sweet, boozy mess - I poured half of the bottle down the drain.
