Cask at the ship inn, Deal Kent. Aroma is sweet caramel, silage, wet grass, tobacco. Light amber coloured pour with a lasting loose white head. Flavour is tart sharp green apples, caramel, unrefined sugars, fermenting grass. Palate is light tart and grainy. Tart finish. Pretty poor example of the beer.

Cask @ Rushden Historical Transport Society. Mid-brown with a big ass beige head. Astringent and vinous scent with persistent woody undertones. Bittersweet leading to a muted finish. Quite disagreeable bitterness in the aftertaste. A stereotypical twiggy brown best bitter. Not bad, not interesting.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown pour, no had. Aromas of burnt sugar, not a right lot else. Metallic and watery, probably better on cask.
