Cask in England. Didn't take enough notes for a very decent review, but I did really like this one. malty, bit caramelly very tasty. Restrained bitterness ( as is the style ) and very easely drinkable.

Thin off white head left a cover on a clear brown, still body. Caramel & malt aroma. Medium to thin bodied, sparkling on the tongue & a clean finish. Taste is much as the aroma with malt, brown sugar, caramel & bitter fruity finish. Average English Bitter

Bottle at home, Xmas gift from Jason & Tracey, 26/12/17. Clear deep copper with a decent light beige head. Nose is biscuit malts, spice, toffee, fruit rinds, brown breads. Taste comprises toffee, brown bread, light cocoa hint, fruit rinds, grains, light spice, caramel, light tobacco. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light earthy come bitter finale. Solid well rounded bitter.

Cask at the Star & Garter, Bromley. Copper coloured pour with a white head. Aromas of toffee apple, orchard fruit, caramel and honeycomb. Flavours of red apple, light sweet spice and caramel. Quite smooth. Nice.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark copper colour with small to average, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, minimally nuttily malty and fruity, minimally floral hoppy aroma, hints of red berries, lingonberry, a minimally earthy touch. Taste is dry, slightly floral hoppy, slightly nutty, minimally earthy, malty basis, cautious fruitiness with a touch of lingonberry. Very clean, easy drinkable - nice.

Loads of blackcurrant and fruity yeast esters. Soft malts. Ace drinkability. Perfect bitter.

Tap at the source in Ramsgate, England. Amber pour with a nice foam having retention. Nose: nutty, malty, balanced bouquet of cookies and nuts. Mouth: rich malt approach followed by assert hoppy finish. Great Bitter! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At GBF. Lacing, off-white, thinnish head, more or less clear, pure amber robe. Aroma of damp cloth, melting butter, caramel syrup, dried apricot, apple peel, hazelnut, dried flowers. Clean, ’English’ fruitiness in the onset, hint of dried red berries, some green banana here and there, softish carbo, slick caramelly malty middle, tad nutty with a toasted accent, herbal and floral hoppiness in the end, gently bittering. Very classic and traditional English bitter - probably better when cask-conditioned, as usual in this style.
