For this 2014 edition, our brewers have selected Mosaic. This new US hop variety enhances the beer with a tangerine sweetness, hints of tropical fruit and an interesting blueberry flavour.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Clear golden body with a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of mango, cannabis and tangerine. Flavour of ’green’ hops, watermelon, nettles and orange. Medium body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Lively fizz. I love Mosaic (it’s probably my favourite hop) but when combined with Saaz and Styrian Goldings it loses some of it’s tropical fruit punch.

Big frothy head, more or less clear colour. The mosaic is very pronounced in the aroma. Very herbal and earthy smell, Belgian yeast also is apparent. But the hops is the dominating thing here, making it also smell really refreshing. Beer is rather highly carbonated and is prickly on the tongue. The belgian yeast flavour is the first thing one tastes but is followed by a load of herbal, grassy and earthy flavours from the hops which lingers for a really long time. The alcohol makes it slightly warming. Excellent beer showcasing one of my favourite hops varieties.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant dark golden color with an enormous fluffy white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was tart and effervescent with a yeast note, a bit of mustiness and a tangy citric hop presence. The flavor was tart, spritzy, tangy and citric with perfumey hops and a dry, musty and yeasty undertone. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent.

Bottled 330ml (from Alko order selection, BB 07/2016)
Golden color, small steady white head. Aroma has mandarin, grass and citrus. Medium-bodied. Grassy, tropical fruity, citrusy flavor. Typical Duvel yeast flavors. Does not feel as strong as 9,5%.

Hazy pale yellow with small white head. Pear, citrus hops. Bitter, herbal, citrus. Acidity in the beginning, hoppiness. Dry finish. Medium body. Hoppy, but I like the original better.
