Brewed only once each year to coincide with the Hop Harvest in Yakima Washington, High Tide IPA is made with 180 lbs of Fresh Hops per batch that are plucked from the vines and sent straight to our brewery. We skip the whole drying and processing stage which means the hops are ultra fresh and full of flavors we can’t normally get. Like grapes, Hops are only harvested one time each year and as such, we make what we can when we get them.

Bottle from a bottle shop, RBESG Rome day 3. Thanks for sharing Menno! Golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of green apples, yeast, hops, caramel, as it warms up more soft fruity notes come up. Flavour is light sweet, fruity, green apples again (off?), light caramel, grassy and piney bitter hoppy finish, a bit harsh. Medium bodied. A bad bottle? I didn’t like this one very much.

Delicious huge fresh hop flavored IPA. The beer is a deep orange with a big soapy head. Mountains of fine foam sit atop the liquid. The head could have been a bit more aggressive initially. Aroma is citrus, pine and earthy flowers. The bitterness tends to crowd out the other flavors more than some. It’s sweet with lots of hops and a strong bitter hop aftertaste. The bitterness is a bit harsh, but I can enjoy that.

Perfect orange/golden/amber coloured body with a bright highlight and a nice sized tan head - great looking! Aroma of grassy, herbal hops with a good dose of sugar and some malt in the nose as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and piney hops in the taste with some caramel, and a nice malt backbone. Cascade and grapefruity hops finish the beer nicely and leave a good aftertaste that is bitter, but pleasant. Overall, a nice fresh hop beer, perhaps a bit past it’s prime...but definitely refreshing on a hot day, when cutting the grass! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Colorado Liquor Mart in Denver, Colorado on 14-February-2010, sampled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 10-April-2010.

Bottled (Beer Hunters)
Slightly hazy yellow color, small white head. Aromatic, perfumic nose: lychee, peach, some flowers. Flavor has grapefruit juice, watermelon, clover and some alcohol. Less bitter than expected and a bit thin. Lame.

Bottle shared by coyotehunter. Pours a lovely light orange with a sudsy head and aromas of grass, lemon and cat pee. Flavor is OK, but seems a little overly hoppy without quite enough malt. Hops presence is lemony/grassy with a little bit of a herbal edge.

Bottle:
Pours hazy, pale orange with a big, foamy head. Grapefruit and ripe oranges on the nose. Flavour is loads of zesty, grapefruity hops. The bitterness last "forever". Delicious!
