Hard to find in the states, I located Pater 6 at a fine little beer shop in Hoorn, NL. I open the 33 cl bottle and I immediately get a whiff of figs and bread. It pours a dark chocolate-brown with strong, healthy head of fine bubbles. And then a taste. Malt, wheat bread, sorghum and just the barest of sweetness. Moderate bitter ending. It improves with heating. Very good for a style I like.

Great example of one of my favourite styles. One of the beers to base the style on, hits all the proper style spots, only thing I could ask for is a bit more fullness. Craft beer store Dresden

Dark brown with reddish hints if seen through light. Nearly one finger of dense, slightest off-white head. Good enough retention and a hint of lacing. In the aroma: soft doughish yeastiness, caramel and brown sugar, fruit notes of banana and red fruits. It's quite vivid and complex, but most of all extremely clean and well defined. Taste confirms what the aroma suggested, with medium to high sweetness and low bitterness. The overall feeling is soft/sweetish but never over the top, thanks to a slight warming feel and a rather clean, dry finish for the style. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, possibly a bit lower than usual per style, with a simple, soft, semi-silky mouthfeel. Clean, perfectly balanced, so simple to drink and yet a beer you can pleasantly sip slowly. In it's humbleness, it's just perfect.

330ml bottle. Clear, dark chestnut colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Yeasty fruity and yeasty spicy aroma, sweet-ish, sugary and bready malty background, hints of banana, honeydew melon, a minimally waxy touch. Taste is initially sweet-ish, yeasty fruity, intense notes of honeydew melon, unripe banana, later completed by bitter hoppy counterweight and a touch of raisin and liquorice, mildly bitter and minimally waxy finish. Not what I'm really into...
