Bottle. Pours deep, dark brown. Malt taste, nice bitterness at the end, with alcohol (it is a scotch ale, after all).

Been anticipating the taste of my first scotch ale. Pours dark in my steeler stein, no discernable aroma. Initial slurp is pretty flat and bitter malty. A little viscous. Finish is alcohol and bitter, lingering...oooooo. Would pass this up in the future.

Bottle. Dark brown color with small white head. Malty aroma, rather sweet, burnt, caramel. Smouth palate, little sweet. Finish is light sweet-bitter, roasted. Very enjoyable.

Really dark, great head. Malty. Very malty, and has a bitter aftertaste. I can see how it’s good, but frankly I find it really powerful, almost too powerful to be really enjoyed.

Pours deep rich amber in color with a short tan head. Nice malty aroma with a hint of alcohol. Taste: sweet caramel/molasses malts with a hint of hop bitterness. An excellent Scotch Ale.

This is the first time I have had this beer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium to large brown head. The aroma is sweet and has light malts and fruity hops with a hint of vinegar underneath. The flavor is rich with tangy and sour malts and ripe fruit - cherry and plum mostly. There is an odd undertaste that I can not quite identify but is rather pleasant. A bit of alcohol burn comes through on the finish. A nice beer I will have to try again.
