Lucifer is a strong blond top-fermented beer. The beer has been brewed by Brouwerij Riva since 1980. However, in 2009 brewery Het Anker was given the right to brew the beer and to market it in large numbers. The brewery concept of Riva Brewery has remained unchanged since the transfer to Het Anker brewery. The brewmasters continued to brew with exactly the same ingredients.

bottle @ supermarket (budapest) golden colour, medium body, highly cabonated, hard white foam, by taste a typically belgian strong ale, but not so hoppy

Flesje thuis gedronken. Goudgeel, licht troebel bier. Heftig schuimend bij inschenken. Witte schuimkraag blijft lang staan. Bier heeft een aroma van citrusvruchten. Smaak is fruitig en ietsje hoppig. Nasmaak is iets bitter.

Pours hazy, straw-colored from the bottle and leaves behind a voluminous, foamy head. The head soon fades to a more manageable surface froth that lingers for the duration. Aroma is yeasty with a touch of clove, but overall quite subdued. Taste is lightly bitter up front, dry, and complemented by a prickly carbonation that balances out nicely and sets up a refeshing crispness that carries into a finish lightly warmed by the 8% ABV. The overall flavors follow the scent - yeasty, clove, and a light tartness. Nothing particularly memorable, but this is drinking at a good level.

330ml bottle from the Cheese & Wine shop, Darlington. Golden colour, frothy white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of banana, meringue, fruity, yeasty. Taste is grain, fruity & yeasty, sweetish, with a banana note, plus a little spice and some booze. Foamy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry earthy boozy finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle at PIB 2016, pours a hazy dull yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of Belgian yeast upfront, with lots of bubblegum and dry crackery malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with bubblegum and Belgian yeast in good harmony. Not overly complex but it works well.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours light translucent gold with a strong white head. Aroma of pale malt and herb/grass. Med + body. Cancel the herb, make it grass/spice and hints of banana and pale malt. Clean, not very bitter, and not quite dry. Yet the flavor is very nice.
