Lucifer is a strong blond top-fermented beer. The beer has been brewed by Brouwerij Riva since 1980. However, in 2009 brewery Het Anker was given the right to brew the beer and to market it in large numbers. The brewery concept of Riva Brewery has remained unchanged since the transfer to Het Anker brewery. The brewmasters continued to brew with exactly the same ingredients.

At work: pours cloudy golden grey with a white head. Aroma is yeasty and lightly fruity. Taste has some nice amount of hops for a Belgian from Belgium. Some minerals. Alcohol is well covered. Relatively easy to drink. Not bad.

750 ml corked and crowned bottle. Pours a pale gold with a thick mousse-like white head. Excellent lacing. Fragrant lemony malt nose has yeasty notes. Flavor mirrors nose with notes of biscuit malt and lemon peel. Refreshing, with a crisp bitter finish. 8%. ABV is barely noticeable.

Bottle at the second 42nd Floor Tasting. It pours hazy pale gold with a thick white head. The nose is paper, straw, grassy, powdery, floral, light spice and lemon peel. The taste is toasty, earthy, lemon rinse, white bread, cracker, grass and some warming alcohol. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Drinks pretty easy for what it is. A bit sweet of course, but actually alright.

Bottle split on the 42nd floor, thanks to the osprey, 10/11/15. Clear light golden with a well appointed egg shell white covering. Nose is bready, pale malt, straw, caramel, fruity whisper, booze tunes. Taste comprises more booze, airy malt, yeast esters, orange, light floral notes, pinch of spice, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Average.

Bottle shared in London on the 42nd floor - big thanks to Daniel for this gem! Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy white head. White bread in the nose, meringue, yeast, wheat. Medium sweet flavor, lots of simple white bread, minimal bitterness, ripe lemon, Belgian yeast. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation and massaging carbonation. Warming finish with more simple white bread, meringue, hints of vanilla, wheat, yeast. Tasty, and drinks pretty well for the strength.

Bottle from Bier Tempel. Hazy golden with a white head. Esters, some fruit, perfume, warming alcohol. Sweet and a boring one to be honest.
