Deep golden in color, BridgePort IPA has an assertive and fragrant hop character from the two full pounds of Cascade, Chinook, Goldings, Crystal and Ahtanum hops in every barrel. / (Our Original IPA) Over 20 years ago, our Original IPA set the standard for an American brewed IPA by using only the freshest Pacific Northwest ingredients available. That tradition continues today. We blend 5 hop varieties grown locally in the Willamette Valley to create a signature floral and citrus aroma. Bottle-conditioned to perfection, BridgePort IPA is exceptionally balanced with a soft round body and robust character.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Hazy golden pour with a small white head. Hoopy aroma. Taste of citrus, hops, pine. Similar to a UK version of a US IPA.

Bottle. Body is golden and aromas are faintly floral with a little citrus and honey. Flavor reveals a bready side to this, from grainy malt to yeast presence with the hops not really making a strong showing until late in the finish. Even then, they seem to match more English take on the style rather than something from the West Coast.

(35.5cl bottle) Cloudy, bright orange colour with a blond, mid-sized foamy head. Light to moderately sweet aroma with an aromatic and fruit-accented dash of hops with notes of lime, oranges and piney spice. Very bitter flavour, well-blended with citrus-fruity hoppy notes and a subtle pale malty sweetness. Dry and bitter finish with a lasting fruity aftertaste. Not overly complex but a very aromatic and refreshing IPA (18.II.09).

A freebee for the cheapster. Sweet and almost fruity perfumy aroma. Nice cloudy darkish beige color. Swirling hypnotizing pour, from the gunk on the bottom of this bottle. Rocky head. Bitter preservative taste, difficult on the enjoyability scale for me, but certainly within the style. Has some decent carbonation that comes across as malty at times on the palate. Finish is bitter hoppy preservative medicine.

Bottle from my son-in-law, Colin; Nose of grassy hops with a little floral added; hazy light amber with a medium off-white head; flavor of piney, grassy hops with a small amount of hop bitterness, along with a lemon note; finsh is mildly bitter. Not a hopbomb, but decent!

Pours bright amber into a shaker. White head quickly recedes to roil the surface. Sweet caramel and pine aromas. Well balanced and smooth with an active, sharp carbonated grapefruit finish.
