Strictivus is a wheat beer that we age on a blend of locally sourced fruits. Right after we pulled a batch of Pick Your Own (a tart, wild ale) of off these fruits—cherries, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries—we filled the tank back up with Strictivus. With only around a month of aging, the beer is transformed. To its already spicy and citrusy notes, the fruit adds a variety of tart berry flavors. In the end, Strictivus finds a delicate, and drinkable, balance between sour and sweet.

Reviewed from notes.
On tap at Vermont Tap House, Williston, VT. (Consumed 07/20/2019)
Poured into a tulip.
Appearance: fine ruddy red color with no head thus no lace
Aroma: cherry, raspberry, blueberry and strawberry tart and sweet scents; noted yeasty quality, subtle grassy hops? hmmmm, I believe so but they're super faint
Flavor: wraps up the previously noted aromas to a fine tart and sweet quality then follows through on the finish with a light sour character to it
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper; light smoothness but also some sharp tart and sour assertiveness
Overall: was a great Summer dessert beer I would welcome again.

Covenhoven, draught: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is loads of fruit: strawberry and raspberry, but with an added yeasty complexity. Taste is modestly sour. Not at all acidic. Nice complex funkiness. Good finish. I like it.

Draught at Publick House, 7/24/18.
Rosy, copper-peach-golden. Moderate cloudiness with a firm, off-white head.
Soft and fruity in the nose with very light wheat-like character, a touch of honey-like malt and well-aged, mild fruit acids. Immediately reminds me of a light First Fruits. Very nice Brett and other mixed ferm notes, with soft cherry pulp, dried strawberry and even a touch of apple-like character. Just a touch of lactic and malic acidity.
In the mouth it's equally soft, well-lagered and mild. Gentle acidity, well-integrated fruit and a great base malt and wheat character with soft, malty textures and tight carbonation. Really nice Brett character, which Allagash often has. No alcohol or flaw. Even though this is second use fruit, it's still lovely.
