Ever so slightly hazy deep peach and bronze coloured body with a copper tint, all below a thinnish, off-white head that fdaes fairly quickly, but leaves a small lace on the sides. Aroma of very strong bittered hops with a resinous and grapefruity note along with a good dash of malts here, some noticeable yeast and even a nuttiness at the very end of the nose. Medium-bodied; Rich malts show at first, but then are completely overtaken by the plentiful and bittering hops that show grapefruit and pine and finishes with a good balance, but a hint of alcohol warmth and some light sweetness. Aftertaste shows the piney, bitter hops with a good level of malts right behind and some light sweetness, but the nuttiness and a touch of dryness makes this a bit complex and enjoyable. Overall, a crisp and fairly old-school almost Imperial IPA that has a nice hop bite and is balanced well with malts. Good to sample and enjoyable for a local almost Imperial IPA that hits the marks fairly well without blowing any socks off. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 27-November-2020 for US$2,79 sampled in my house here in Washington on 03-July-2021 after just returning from Alaska and New York, being back at 'home'.

12 oz can from State Line. Dark golden, small tight head. Caramelly aroma, sweet. Taste introduces some bittering hops, but the caramel malts still dominate.

12oz can. Just hit stores recently. A a real DIPA, just how things used to be, and well made. Not a wannabe NEIPA. Sweet hops, doesn't taste like typical Citra to me, and low bitterness but present bitterness with the strong malt backbone that isn't caramel or tea. If you can make the hops not nasty and keep tea or caramel out of the malts then its wasy to make a good DIPA. Why doesn't everyone do that?
