Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 04/12/2012. The beer is a cloudy orange-amber color with a medium white head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma is citrusy with some hops and malt in the background. Medium body with a floral and grassy hops character and notes of minerals and malts in the background. The finish is mildly bitter hops. Hard to characterize as "salty" despite the label. Decent overall.

Pours gold into a tumbler. Bright white head with excellent retention meringues and craters at it slowly recedes leaving sheet lacing. Sour apple and blue cheese aromas. Crisp with bitter oak and hops upfront turning to yeast and souring curds in the lasting finish.

Another winner from this brewery, tap @ Ginger Man. Beautiful slightly dulled glowing golden color. Only medium clarity in the beer. Its simply an easy drinking, slightly tart, floral, Belgian-inspired brew. I could sip on this for a while. Overpriced in bottle but well priced on tap.

Draft at Ginger Man NY. Hazy, deep amber body with copper highlights. No head. Aroma of lacquer, paint, earthiness, basement, herbs with a hint of citrus. The flavor was lightly bitter, lightly sweet and lightly acidic. It finished lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Some saltiness emerges in the finish as well. Medium body, watery texture, average carbonation. Unique beer that is dominated by yeast funk — the lacquer and earthiness — and some sweetness yet gives way in the finish to a lingering bitterness and light to moderate sourness. That sounds better than it actually is as the tastes clash.

Bottle shared by Steve, thanks. Pours a hazy gold w a lasting white head that lasted and laced nicely. Aroma has a light pine note with some grass and a bit of salt. Flavor begins with some citrus but becomes slightly more piney with a bit of salt. A bit odd but not bad.

Bottle shared by MaltDawg (I think) at the 12th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 9/18/10. Thanks Graham! Pours a hazy dark yellow color with a thin head. The aroma is dry, earthy and leafy, peppery hop notes and an herbal finish. The taste is dry citrus, earthy notes, herbal, fruity notes and a faintly salty note. Medium bodied. Damn good beer.

750 capped from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy dark gold with a foamy off-white head. Aromas of salt and fruit. Med body/mild carb. Flaover is pale stone fruits with a dose of salts. Starts a bit too salty, but after awhile it’s about right. Unique.
