Dry-sweetish caramelly licorice coriander taste with herbal spicy notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Light body. Dry spicy chocolatey aftertaste with peppery honey notes. Buttery finish. Second rating: Medium beige head. Hazy deep brownish red body. Spicy fruity seeds of paradise aroma, very vivid, with licorice notes. Dry spicy licorice and cinnamon taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish spicy licorice and seeds of paradise aftertaste with rock sugar notes. Lingering butterscotch. Nice, vivid, crazy clean, very drinkable. (Bottle, 0.33 l, at De Heeren van Liedekercke) I had this beer with food that was prepared with the same beer. This dark brown beer was quite complex. Aroma had fruitiness, spiciness, hops, chocolate and malts. Palate was full bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, aniseed, spiciness, fruitiness, hops, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste had aniseed and malts. Rarely have I had beer with so many flavours that still match. I enjoyed drinking this.

On tap at DHVL. Brown colour with lasting beige head. It’s ok, some ok malt in mouth. From the others at the table who had it I was expecting a bit more, but as I drank it, I couldn’t really discern anything other than it was a pretty decent malty Belgian ale. Which it is.

Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekerke. A house beer. Pours dark amber brown with an off-white head. Brown malty aroma.. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is dark malt with enough hop to moderate. A very delicious brown ale.

Amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is grainy malt, perfumed spice and a little herbal. Dry caramel malty flavour with spice and herbs, and a little yeast in the finish

Gift from DHVL. Bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts great - notes of raisins and liquorice, nicely spicy. Finish a bit weeker, modest spicy, a bit washy. All in all a good beer!

33 cL bottle, gift from DHVL. Pours dark and murky brown with a small off-white head. Spiced malty and somewhat yeasty aroma. Sweet fruity flavoured with a solid estery yeasty note. Dry and roasted malty flavoured before and into the finish. Mild sweet and spiced impression. Classic belgian yeasty/carbonation mouthfeel.

Bottle, 8% at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Weak grassy hop aroma (dry-hopped, I am told), with some dark sweet malts as well. Dark brown colour. Very lively with bits of yeast perpetually swirling round in the drink. Big stable creamy tan head. The flavour is mildly sweet, nicely malty. A hint of roasted malts balance off the sweetness a bit. Actually very well balanced, I think. The kind of beer I like.

33cl bottle. Gift from the people at De Heeren van liedekercke. Pours extremely muddy amber with a small creamy head and lacings. Nose is sweet, dusty and spicy. Caramel, yeast and fruits. Medium bodied. Sweet fruity and dusty taste. Lots of yeast and vegetables. Herbs and leather which I really dislike - may have come from the yeast. Warmth from alcohol. Disappointing.
