Small white head. Amber body. Milky spicy mild aroma with fruity notes. Strong roasty milky fruity taste, quite dry, and yet sweetish. Spicy banana notes, and perhaps a faint touch of wood. Dry, herbal aftertaste. Mild, smooth, rounded mouthfeel. Quite nice. The alcohol isn’t very noticeable. Dangerously drinkable. (0.33l bottle from Dorstvlegel.)

Bottle. Clear medium amber orange color with a large frothy / creamy excellent lacing mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy yeasty, moderate malty, toasted, light alcoholic, notes cardboard / paper. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Canned. golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is alcohol, sweet malts as well as some spices. Flavour is alcohol, sweet malts and some fruit. The fun thing is, if I wouldn’t know it’s a belgian strong ale, I would go for the fact it’s a very wellbalanced ESL or ML, I still think it’s a wellbalanced thing, even though I would wait for a bit more both aroma and flavourwise from a Belgian Strong Ale.

Bottle. Color ranges from clear golden to orange depending on the background. Has a very small and disappointing white head that fades almost instantly. Aroma is malty with some fruitiness. Flavor is sweet and alcoholic and finishes with an almost burning alcoholic (and a bit metallic) sense. An ok medium body.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear golden, small head. Fruity estery artificial raspberry aroma. Sweet and fruity, sweaty and unrefined. Finishes with some syrup and light grassy hops. Bold and clumsy. Not good.

A golden ale with a thick creamy white head. An aroma of apples, alcohol, and light malt. In mouth, a light bubble gum malt, with light coriander and sweet malt, with some warming alcohol, and light pepperyness. Medium bodied, but cloying. Can from Bieropholie import. The rest of the can went for a glaze for a chicken dish.

Can. Pale golden, and topped by a small large-bubbled white head. Alcohol, sweet malt and fruity notes in the aroma. Flavor is much the same, but with some spicy notes in addition. Thin body and a long alcohol-dominated finsih with some spicyness. Whats the point? (060711)
