33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Brussels. Rated on 20.07.2010
Aroma has grainy and yeasty notes, fruits, some floral notes and alcohol. Flavour has slightly grainy malt, some fruits, yeasty notes and alcohol. Not very good, I expect much more from a 10% Belgian strong.

Medium carbonation. Pale golden colour. The only thing i can say: this is sugar with alcohol with a metallic aftertaste.

330ml bottle. Pours dark gold with a medium, frothy head. Aroma is sweet candy sugars with a little bread and alcohol. Taste is sweet to start, with a heavy alcohol finish.

We slammed through a few bottles of this in the hotel in Brussels during Paul’s pre-wedding boys weekend. This beer pours clear, yellow-gold with a medium, white foam head. Dusty grain and dough in the nose. Sweet cereal flavor with light grain, some straw, sugar and alcohol. Medium to full in body with fine carbonation. Warm finish with grainy sugar, mild straw bitters, dough and rubbing alcohol. Lasting grainy sugar and booze in the aftertaste. It’s a good ’get-drunk’ beer.

Poured from a half litre can, into two Gordon Thistle glasses, I was really looking forward to drinking it. Best by date 07/2007, drank 11/2006. Looked good, clear, sparkling and proud, with a thin wispy white head. Not a smell to comment on really, nothing bad, just nothing! Tasted OK, but penicillin with an alcoholic bite, came to my mind. Nasty aftertaste which lingered, a kind of alcohol with no body to it. Very difficult to explain, but not a good feel to it. Drinkability, made me burp, a sicky type of burp at that! Sadly, this canned product was a total letdown, my two beautiful Thistle glasses (paid for, years ago in Belgium) will be used for other beers, I will not be trying this in a tinned form again.

Dark blond colour. Some banana in the aroma. Feels very silky and quite rich in the mouth. Flavour is sugary and sweet but this balances quite well with the high alcohol content.
