Ever since 1992, Gordon Finest Gold has been inspiring a gold rush. This incomparable strong Scottish style lager shares the values of its clan : pride in its origins, the strength of its typical and powerful taste, and the nobility of its refinement. Through this incomparable emblem of the range, Anthony Martin has definitively adjudicated between the clans.

One of Anthony Martin’s bestsellers, aimed at alcoholics. Golden blonde colour, snow white head; sweet malts but primarily corn and malt extracts, light sourishness, plastic, grainy main character with an almost sugary, ’industrial’ sweetness and wry (fusel) alcoholic finish as is so often the case in this bleak style, metallic as well, with the ’sugarness’ cloying in the end along with burning alcohol. Not the worst in its style, but hugely overrated in Belgian beer culture; I understood that this is a goldmine for John Martin, considering the volume of cans that are sold in night shops and the like, to a non-discriminative audience of alcoholics. I, for one, passionately hate this series. Truly vile and to be avoided at any rate!

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig süß, leicht alkoholisch. Geschmack süß malzig, getreidig, leicht alkoholisch.

33 cl bottle, 10%. Dark gold color, thick white head. Alcoholic and syrupy nose. Aroma is malty, syrupy with brandy and solvents (kinda whiteboard marker). Taste is sweetish with an alcoholic bitterness afterwards. Full bodied, creamy texture, thick, sticky, low carbonation. Chemical esters and fuel notes.

Worthless sugar water. Clear and flat, has nothing but sweetness. Tastes like a failed brew.

0,33 flaske delt med Steven og Willy, som hadde den med hjem fra Spania: stor enighet i panelet, og Steven uttrykte seg kort og konsist: "Good heavens, what is this supposed to be?" Høy voltstyrke, men det er også det hele. En ubehagelig sødme gjorde at den ikke kan karakteriseres som lettdrikkelig.

33 cl. can @ home, bought somewhere in Belgium. Golden with a thin white head. Grainy sweet aroma and taste. Nothinh more than a typical strong pale lager: too sweet, too alcoholic. Strange thing about this one though is that it was not even dirt cheap. What kind of people, besides me ofcourse, buys this kind of expensive crap?

Przecietne i mocny odor etanolu ktory mi przeszkadza. dominuje zarowno w smaku jak i zapachu. Dla mnie to strong lager słodki, slodki i alkocholowy. Odrzuca mnie na mile. Chyba nawet polowy nie wypilem.

Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, light hops, light fruity, orange peel and cloves. Sweet malty flavour, light spicy, quite a bit of yeast. Spicy, malty finish.
