Bottle at Bodrum Cafe in Istanbul. Pours a dark cola color with a medium thin khaki head that recedes quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt and caramel. Light to medium body with flavors of roast malt, toffee and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a bready malt and grain aftertaste. Slightly below average overall.

Dark brown with a creamy light tan head. Light roasted malts, sweet molasses, malty aroma. Medium creamy and smooth body. Light roasted malts, molasses, a touch of crispness in the finish. Easy going. Good, not great. (bottle at Istanbul airport)

Fia (mange) flasker i Alanya: som aperitif og til aftenens måltid var denne helt ok. Nok smak og maltprofil til å balansere de fleste rettene. Tragisk at Efes/Tuborg har noe som minner om monopol i Tyrkia.

Head: beige, medium, frothy, avg. retention. Colour: amber-brown, clear.

Aroma: malty/bready, very faint, possibly some fruitiness. Taste: quite dry and bitter, very little malt sweetness. More like a coloured lager than a dunkel.

From a 50 cl can. Pours a cola brown with an off white head. Aroma of dark corn syrup. Malt flavors. Not complex but not awful. Feint bitter hop finish.

11.2 oz clear bottle. Best before 6/7/13. Pours clear dark mahogany with a large beige fluffy head that leaves some decorative lace. Aroma is skunky first and foremost, caramel malt comes through next, along with some toasted marshmallow coming along after that--if it wasn’t for that skunk (thanks Efes for your use of clear glass), this wouldn’t be all that bad in the nose. Taste is sweet and caramelly. Body is thin, carbonation fairly soft. I’ve had worse recently (Sagres Bohemia), but this could use some work.

Clear brown cola colour, beige diminishing head. Aroma of malts and old socks. Sweet flavour, caramel and molasses. Malty finish, apple sauce and caramel.
Meh. Didn’t do bad in the beer chili though.

Thx. to BelgBeerGeek / Vincent for this one – although he kept denying that it was him indeed who brought this. 50 cl. can sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Heard a lot of terrible stuff about this one & Efes so far, I have had the blond already but psyched to see just how bad this is. Clear brown / burned sugar. Smells of sweet burned caramel, burned sugar with herbs, metallic malts. Taste is sweet corn / adjunct type of stuff, burned sugar and caramel, tame, light herbs and touch metallic. Light. Meh, this isn’t the train wreck I was promises. Drinkable.

50cl can sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of BelgBeerGeek. Bref, on s’ennuie.
