19/11/2021. Cask at the Harwich & Dovercourt Bay Winter Ale Festival 2021. Just as Moonshine Porter but same abv. Pours very dark brown almost black with a small bubbly off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, molasses, mucky edge. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Bit disappointing this one.

Black color with a tiny tan layer on top. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Mostly coffee, roast and toffee in the flavor.

By gravicask, 4.5 % abv, at Chelmsford & Mid Essex Winter Beer Festival. Shared with Cunningham. Coal black body. Shiny black surface. Malt-accented aroma, mid-sweet. Honeyed malty flavours joined by impact of ripe fruits. Mid-sweet, mild roasted finish. Likable, just rather thin bodied (17.02.2017).

At a tasting, thanks Roei, big bubbley slightly frothy head, quite dark brown colour, aroma of carob, brown sugar and manure, flavour of nuts, lightly charred wood, and dirt, light sourness and strong carbonation, too light bodied but still quite interesting. Quite good.

Obtained in a trade with Brigadier. 500 ml. bottle @ home. BBF 04/2014. Dark chestnut mahogany appearance, only mocha bubbles. Smell is chocolate milk nose, mocha, cheap chocolates, roast and big cuberdons, light blueberries, not bad. Taste is simple, sweet, chocolate milk, cheap chocolates, nice chunk of earth, dry simple roast, bitter herbal hops, light burned rubber in the back, grounds, liquorish and more bitter earth in the back mixed with light earthly blueberries. Slightly watery. Messy and bit weak but still quite enjoyable. Below review claims that this is a blend of a bitter & a dark beer, might explain why I thought initially of a bitter I had recently before when I had this.
