0.5l bottle. Pours a hazy light bronze body with a thin everlasting head line. Extreme hoppy nose with lots of pine and some grass. Enormous carbonation, medium to full-bodied and a nice American hoppy taste with some citrus and a hint of caramel. Nice bitter - and some alcohol in the ending.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear deep copper colour, off white head. Aroma of thick sweet malts, bit barley wine like, bread, sweet ripe fruits, light fruity hops. Flavour is sweet, malty, bread, some caramel, earthy liquorice root, subtle pine bitter finish. Medium to fullbodied. Could use a bit more bitterness, but this is a nice DIPA.

Bottled 500ml (Arkadia Alko, batch #292, brygget 030610)
Slightly hazy orange color, small white head. Odd dusty yeasty aroma with some citrusy notes. Medium to full bodied. Quite sweet, peach-apricot fruity with spiceys and some gluey yeast. Hoppy finish. Very warming alcohol in the aftertaste. This tastes more like strong Belgian ale or other strong ale than a typical DIPA. Some similarities even to Vitus!

Orange beer with medium and blond head. Aroma is great and there are strongly aromatic hopoils, tropical fruits and pine needles with some sweetness. Flavour is nicely balanced, sweetness and bitterness are nicely balanced, pine needles and some sweetness. Full-bodied and smooth to drink. Simple beer, only few nuancees are found, but they are greatly balanced; I like this beer.

500ml bottle from Alko Arkadia
Pours light orange with a large, foamy white head. Nice aroma with lots of fruits. Taste is a bit musty, and alcohol comes through clearly. A bit unbalanced DIPA.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity slightly alcoholic hoppy citrus aroma with some hints of caramel. Frioty malty and very hoppy bitter flavor with some grassy citrus hints. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Slightly hazy, orange-brown. The foam was thick and white. Fruity aroma with some resin, grass and some sweetness. Taste of light citrus, a little grapefruit, pineapple and caramel. Good balance. The liquid was not too oily, a solid beer. More British than American.

Two year old bottle, but prior to its "best by" date, from batch #150. Murky orange, no head, no lacing. Aroma of orange peel, citrus, clove. Taste has only slight bitterness, probably all the hops have gone. Great body. Would like to taste it again a bit fresher.

The beer pours a dusky amber and leaves a fine mesh of bubbles coating the surface. The aroma is rich with caramel malt flavor and hints of fruity hops. The flavor suspends a big hop flavor in a pool of sweetness. It’s like they’ve de-clawed the hops. There’s some bitterness around the edges, but many a DIPA would scoff at the lack of palate-stripping bite. The various components are all high quality. Still, for me, it’s barely even the same style as beers like Pliny the Elder and Hop Stoopid. Nonetheless, it’s an enjoyable beverage.
