We built our first brewhouse using recycled dairy equipment. We had to test our handywork, so we loaded it up with a heavy, dark Stout. That first batch was a 13-hour labor of love, and when we sipped the first bottle, we knew we had a keeper. With a nod to the West Coast, we balance Stout’s deep, roasted malt flavors with earthy, whole-cone hops.
Creamy, malty, and full-bodied, the Sierra Nevada Stout is satisfyingly rich. Caramel and Black malts give the Stout its deep, dark color and pronounced roasted flavor.

335 ml bottle. Pitch black with a creamy lightly tanned head. Roasted aroma with coffee, caramel malts, chocolate, liquorice, a subtle smoked note. Herbal hops and citrus. Taste is bitter roasted. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted bitter with dark malts. Very fine Stout.

Bottle. Opaque deep brown to black. Small deige head. Aroma: roasted malts, caramel, chocolate & coffee in a balanced blend. Similar taste with additional citrusy bitterness. Very smooth and flavourful.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with full head. Aromas of nutty milk chocolate, bread crust, and dry toasted malts. Flavors of acidic nuts, dry chocolate, copper and thin roasted malts. More like a watery porter. Can’t get any of the advertised hops. Cheap though...

Probably Sierra Nevada’s most underrated beer. Pours a lovely deep dark brown, almost black, and gives up a moderate off-white head with minor lacing. Nose isn’t great, offering modest mocha notes backed by pine. The taste rocks, however, dry and bitter, roasted unsweetened chocolate against an espresso background, offset by the slightest hint of caramel. Stays restrained, never going overboard on the cocoa or coffee, instead gaining a piney hop bitterness on the back end, leading to a bitter, dark roast java fade. Creamy texture only adds to the repeat drinkability. Classic session stout.

Black with little brown head. Aroma is quite hoppy fruit with caramel, ovomaltine, cocoa, syrup. Hoppy! Taste is fresh wet hop with much natural sourness. Little sweetness. Not so bitter. Only thin in the mouth with not much carbonation and light sparkling. The hops and sourness didn’t fit so well for me.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Appearance is dark brown with slight mahogany, finger-width foamy light brown head with poor retention and nice sudsy foam lacing. Aroma is dark fruit, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla. Taste is mix of sweet and bitter roasted malts, milder dark fruit, earthy hops. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft-to-average carbonation, and dry, mild earthy bitter finish. Overall, a thinner texture than I'd like in a stout and the aroma is more exciting than the taste.

Kicsi, rövid hab, fekete szín. Csokis, pörkölt malátás illat. Csokis-kávés, pörkölt malátás, picit kakaóporos ízvilág, némi aszalt gyümölcsös beütéssel. Közepesen testes, enyhén szénsavas és keserű.
