Bottle. A gusher, producing a hazy brown body and a medium sized tan head. Caramel, dried fruits and some alcohol on the nose. The flavor is sugary sweet with both fresh and dried fruits. Caramel and some bitterness too, finishing mostly bitter, with the other flavors found initially in the back. Medium to full body, almost sticky on the palate. A nice beer that won’t impress anyone I think. 101015

Warning! Early amateur rating! Startling! Complex beer with sacharrin sweet notes, a dry finish and a clear coca cola flavour and feel. Some herbal notes as well. Maybe the refrementation sugar is making this beer a bit off the beaten track!

The bottle looks very good, as well as the beer in the glass. Quite dark, almost black, huge head. Starts strong and very sweet-malty, almost like a doppelbock. But then much more fruity, like raisins, some liquorice. Also fine spicy. Finish warming, still dominating sweetness. Good beer!

Bottle from Bier Temple in Brussels. Pours black with a foamy, clingy beige head. Aroma seems smooth burnt malt. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is almost chocolate/coffee porter. Followed with a fair amount of bitter to balance the malt. Interesting version of a "xmas" beer.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, malt, caramel, spices and notes of alcohol, but only enough to enhance the finish.

8/4/6/2/13 Black and shiny with a tall, tan head. Rich dark malt aroma, sweet, with caramel, spices, raisins, cookies, and sesame oil. Sweet, spicy flavor, rich and fruity with dark fruits (cherry and raisins) and licorice, but a bit simple. Yeasty, slightly hopped finish. Thin, slightly fizzy body. Decent and enjoyable but not too special.

33cl bottle from ølfabrikken. BBF unreadable, but i think/guess bbf 2010 sometime. rated feb 2009. when opened quite a lot of beer came out as foam. nearly black, but through light actually deep cloudy red. large thick light brown head. honey, malts, dark fruits sweetness, very slight sourish note (orange peel perhaps, or fresh raisins). flavor is very sweet, but not too sweet, as the sweetness seems to come from many sources at once. dark fruits, wood, malts, cellary flavors, brown sugar, chocolate, very complex and deep flavor. mouthfeel is bubbly as is mouldy bubbly. not good palate. i’ve got ot deduct a few points overall for the bad mouthfeel, but if you are able to ignore that, the flavor is real good. alrady marked down for a rerate - this one is close enough to great that i want to try again sometime. somehow reminds me of westvl 12.
