This Japanese Classic Ale is a recreation of the first Japanese beer made in the Edo period. Please enjoy the Japanese taste, matured in cedar barrels like the old IPA style method from England. bottle-conditioned IPA. Chinook, Fuggles, and Kent Goldings hops are used.

Bottle big thanks to Dan in Richmondo. It pours clear orange - amber with a small white head. The nose is earthy, bitter - sweet, oily, tangerine, candied peel, peach, straw and greengage. The taste is crisp, bitter, straw, floral, toasted grain, cereal, tangerine, spice, orange peel and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Ok. Not sure about this.

Bottle shared in Richmond - many thanks to Daniel. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. Interesting aroma, with some lightly doughy pale bread, hay, lemon meringue. Medium sweet flavor with more simple, doughy pale malts, faint spicy pine, hay. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, with more sugary dough, ripe citrus fruits, white bread, a little wood, faint herbal notes. Novel stuff. Pretty drinkable.

Bottle at Pub Winston, Pori. Hazy amber-ruby color, steady white head. Sweetish grainy aroma. Medium-bodied. Berryish front, banana or toffee, grassy hops. Quite sweet "apa". Not very balanced.

Bonito color miel. Un dedo de espuma. No dura mucho. Aroma acaramelado, miel y algo lácteo con notas de madera. Textura oleosa, fácil trago y bien de gas. Equilibrada, Sabrosa. Rica base acaramelada, compensada con notas ahumadas, madera y un tono licórico indudable aunque el alcohol no es evidente en el paladar. Amargor final, nada exagerado. Próxima a IPAs tradicionales británicas. Muy buena.

Bottle. Hazy amber liquid with medium to big off-white head. Aroma of caramel, cedar, citrus, light lemon peel and toffee. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of caramel, toffee and light citrus. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice beer, if not too reminiscent of a modern IPA.

Bottle from Hasegawa. Poured into an English tulip pint. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a modest white head that lingers throughout. Nose is all perfumey hops and wet cedar with some caramel malt as well. Taste is quite similar with a bit of fruit: plum, peach and apple stand out. Finish is woody and dry with a hint of white pepper. The cedar flavor is very obvious is taste and aroma. bottle from el corte ingles mallorca. clear dark orange, large smooth fine offwhite head. aroma of stale hops, sweet flowery hops and lots of malts. there is a bitter note that just might be from the cedar cellaring. Flavor is very pleasing, a malty brew with sweet flowery notes, quite full and complex, but too sweet for me.

Hazy orange color. Small s white head.. Sweet, fruity, herbal notes in aroma. Kind of malty, fruity taste with spices, herbs and wood. Medium bitterness.
