Steenuilke is a unique herby beer with a minor malty taste, a subtle fruitiness and a fine spicy, slightly grassy bitterness. It has a full-bodied, hoppy and dry aftertaste.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, spices, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and spices, leading to a lightly tart finish - is it slightly off even though it is well within its best before date.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, orange-golden golden colour with a tall and slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty and slightly bready (cara-)malty aroma with a fruity touch of oranges and tangerines, accompanied by mildly spicy touch. Moderately sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness/tarteness, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft cara-malty base with a present fruit-character and spicy notes; sweet and minimally vinous fruity finish with peppery spices. Easy-going Belgian Ale. 02.I.11

Picked this up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, 08-03-10 consumed 10-03-10 Pours hazy gold with a white head. There is quite a sharpness at first on the nose, but also quite fresh and with some lemon peel, spice and yeast. Soft in the mouth, nice fruity tang, spicy with a little warmth but refreshing beer, nice. A7 A4 F7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Good off-white head over hazy orange-golden beer with pink shine. Spicy, rosehips aroma, some toasted malts. Very neutral taste, going on with faint strawberry, and leafy hints, dry biscuits. BIt empty palate (served too cold), indifferent malts. It starts way too neutral, but gradually it grew upon me. Would make up for a very nice "quaffing ale" .
