Hazy copper, small beige head. Light pine resins, spice and cereal grains. Light to medium bitterness, light spicy finish with solid slightly sweet malts. The hops are quite muted and faint, a little resins, mostly earthy spices.

Canadian rye IPA from a 50 cl bottle. Thickly lacing, egg-white, dense, regular, completely closed and well retaining head over a lightly hazy coppery amber coloured beer. Complex and very fragrant aroma of candied orange (marmelade), biscuit, mandarin, peach, dried banana, rye bread, strawberry, chestnuts, dry hay, spring flowers, lime zest, caramel, toasted onion, sweetbread, ginger powder, dried red berries, bitter honey, chicken spices. Cleanly ’dried fruity’ onset, hints of figs, dried mango and hazelnuts, sweetish and sourish but both are well in balance with each other, medium to strongish carbo, bit minerally. Smooth malty middle phase, caramelly, very nutty with a gentle rye sourishness and spiciness as well as softly bittering toasted edge supporting the finishing hop character, spicy, deeply leafy and herbal, but aromatic as well, with elegant retronasal citrus peel, pine resin and dried flower qualities, drying the end phase and well in balance with the nutty malts. Very enjoyable beer, delicious in the nose and well-balanced in the mouth, tilted towards the malty side but still with a lot of delicate North American hop fragrance. Recommended for those who are into the maltier side of IPA.
